Bilbo at 6 years old has been working alongside the lifeguard service since 2005. He is a Newfoundland swimming dog and is brown in colour although his fur turns blond in the summer months with the sea and sun!

 

Bilbo this year did a PB in the Newlyn to Penzance open water swim in August - 28 minutes for a swim of almost one mile! He came in halfway down the field of approximately 350 swimmers who took part.

 

Unfortunately he hasn't been allowed to work on his local beach this year but hopefully  next year he will still be promoting beach safety,either with or without a lifeguard service behind him.
